Brakes work fine but garage says I need new discs, do I trust them
Went in for what I thought was just a pad change and got told the discs are too worn and need replacing as well. The car brakes smoothly with no vibration, so I'm suspicious. I'm going to visit this website to understand how to tell if discs genuinely need replacing versus just being resurfaced, because I don't want to pay for parts I don't need but I also don't want to cut corners on something safety related. Has anyone been in this situation and found out the garage was right, or the opposite? What are the actual signs that discs are done for? And does it vary a lot depending on how you drive?
